Also known as Chinook, wild Alaskan King Salmon is prized for its high oil content, color, semi-firm texture and rich, succulent flesh! Here a few fun facts about our Wild Alaskan King Salmon…

King Salmon

  • The Alaska King Salmon fishery is the largest wild caught King Salmon fishery in the world!
  • King Salmon are the largest of the Alaskan Salmon species…clocking in at an average of 15 to 35 lbs….although some can be much larger.
  • The largest King Salmon ever recorded was caught in 1949 in Petersburg, AK and weighed 126 lbs.!
  • King Salmon has the highest level of omega-3 fatty acids out of all Alaskan species. In a 6oz. serving, there is 2953 mg of omega-3’s, both DHA and EPA.
  • Our fishing season for King Salmon is usually June and July of each summer. However, they can be wild caught from mid May through September.
  • Our King Salmon is minimally processed by hand and we vacuum seal and blast freeze the SAME DAY that they are caught to lock in quality and freshness!

Due to the minimal hand-processing, we don’t remove the pin bones from our King Salmon. But these pin bones are easy to remove. Check out this video of Capt. Tony demonstrating this technique…
