Elevate your appetizer game with tender shrimp, infused with buttery richness and a hint of beer, paired perfectly with a tangy cocktail sauce for a delightful start to any meal!

Ingredients

  • Shrimp

  • 2 lbs Royal Red Jumbo Shrimp, raw, and thawed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of beer
  • 1 cup of water
  • Cocktail Sauce

  • 6 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 1/2 tablespoon prepared horseradish (can be found in the refrigerator aisle at your local supermarket)
  • 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • a pinch of cayenne pepper, or as much as you would like

Instructions

  1. To begin, lets make your cocktail sauce. Combine in a small bowl, ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning. Set aside in your refrigerator to let cool.
  3. Combine Old Bay, butter, beer, and water in a large pot and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the shrimp, turn the heat down to medium, and cover with a lid.
  5. Cook, stirring only once, for 3-6 minutes, or until shrimp are pink and just cooked through.
  6. Using a slotted spoon, remove the shrimp from the broth and transfer to a serving platter.
  7. Serve hot or cold with your freshly prepared cocktail sauce.
