Fast & Spicy Halibut

Directions

  1. Preheat – Set the broiler/oven or grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Make the Seasoning – In a small bowl, mix together paprika, oregano, thyme, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne, and salt.
  3. Prepare the Halibut
    • For frozen halibut: Rinse off any ice glaze under cold water, then pat dry.
    • Place fillets on a foil-lined or spray-coated baking sheet.
    • For best results with frozen fish, cook for 4 minutes before adding butter and spices.
  4. Season – Brush the top of each Halibut portion with melted butter, then sprinkle with about 1/2 tsp of the seasoning mix.
  5. Cook – Grill or broil halibut 5–7 inches from heat:
    • Frozen fish: ~13 minutes
    • Fresh/thawed fish: ~8 minutes
Cook just until the fish is opaque throughout and flakes easily.
