Alaska's Weathervane scallops are only found in the northeastern Pacific Ocean, and are the largest scallop found in Alaska. They can grow to a shell diameter of 8 inches or more! Measured by shell height from the base of the hinge to the edge of the scallop shell, only scallops that are larger than 4 inches can be harvested.
