Tart green apple pairs wonderfully with the otherwise savory ingredients. This is also a great way to repurpose leftover Sockeye salmon!

Ingredients (for 1):

  • 2 slices thick cut sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 4 slices white cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked salmon, flaked
  • 4 slices green apple



  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread each slice of bread with softened butter on one side. Place one slice into the pan, buttered-side down.
  • Layer two slices of cheese, followed by salmon, apple slices, and then two more slices of cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered-side up.
  • Cover the pan and allow the sandwich to get golden brown on one side, and the cheese begins to melt.
  • Flip the sandwich, cover again, ad cook until golden on the other side and cheese is completely melted.
  • Slice in half and serve.
