So what makes us so different? First, take a good look at our name: Wild Alaska Salmon & Seafood. It’s not just a name, it says everything about us. But it didn’t happen overnight…

In the early 1990’s, Tony Wood was a Sport Fishing Guide offering clients the opportunity to fly into some of the most remote areas of Alaska to catch this abundant resource in its natural environment. Many of his clients would ask, “Where can I find this kind of quality in the lower 48?” The answer was always, “You can’t!” That is until Tony sold his plane, bought his boat and Wild Alaska Salmon & Seafood was born. For over 20 years, Wild Alaska Salmon and Seafood has provided wild-caught Salmon from the icy waters of Bristol Bay, Alaska—known to connoisseurs as the home of the best tasting salmon in the world—to select restaurants and purveyors across America. And now, you can buy this high-quality salmon, any time of year, directly from us. We are a private, family-owned company and we maintain our own fishing & processing crew. Every decision we make is based on the quality of fish that is delivered to you! Best of all, since we are not a large corporate fishing operation, you get the highest quality at much lower costs than the other guys.

Our perspective on salmon, our process and our people make all the difference. When it comes right down to it, our business is all about taste, and we never forget that fact. For that reason, everything we do is done with quality in mind. We only fish for the absolute best and we handle it all very carefully and quickly. To us, taste is all that matters.

Our process is different, too.

Our methods of fishing are specifically designed to catch only the sustainably resourced salmon, other species of fish and other wildlife are not harmed or caught. As the salmon are caught, the fish are delivered on ice to shore straight from our boat twice per day and are at once cleaned and hand-processed by our own processing team. This is called a “wet process”. The salmon is then immediately “flash frozen”, meaning that the product is blast frozen very quickly after the catch and packaged in vacuum sealed bags to lock in all the quality and freshness and is constantly kept at ideal temperature and conditions so we can deliver fresh salmon to you any time of year.

How it works.

We fish, process and blast freeze all our salmon in Alaska during the fishing season, June/July of each summer. Remember, this is the ONLY time of the year when this resource can be caught in its natural environment. We then have all our products shipped to the lower 48 where we position them at our own Midwest shipping facility that we own and operate. By doing this, we can ship to all points in the country within 1 to 3 days at a much-reduced cost. Shipping directly from Alaska is an expensive endeavor. From start to finish, the entire process is designed to ensure quality and freshness at the lowest possible price. Click here to read more about our Shipping and Packaging methods.

We handle everything ourselves, from fishing to processing the catch, so we can ensure quality. Our proprietary methods are more efficient and faster. The result? A better product on your table!
